Background

Whyte & Barrie is Lanarkshire's largest independent firm of Chartered Surveyors. The Firm of Whyte and Barrie was established in 1947 and has advanced greatly from its modest beginnings in the County Town of Lanark.

In 1974 the company expanded into Valuation Practice and is now a multi-disciplined business that has developed from one office with two partners to five branches with four partners and associated professional staff.

However, our expansion has not stopped there. We are one of the founding members of FIRST SURVEYORS SCOTLAND and now form part of the largest company of Chartered Surveyors in Scotland with over 30 branch offices and unequalled geographic coverage. This makes us cost effective and creates a network where our clients always feel comfortable in the knowledge that the professional advice they receive is from local experts with many years experience.
