Andrew is a Director and is responsible for the Management of our Residential Department within our Hamilton office. He joined Whyte & Barrie in 2012 following a period of 11 years at Graham+ Sibbald. He is a highly respected property professional who qualified as a Chartered Surveyor in 2003. A resident of Lanarkshire all his life, Andrew has extensive local knowledge and experience in the local property market.
Head of Valuation & Professional Services John has been with the company since June 1989 and with over 30 years experience of the residential and commercial markets is skilled in dealing with the needs of our individual clients but also fully understands the requirements of our corporate/major lender clients and Panel Managers. He is Chairman of First Surveyors Scotland and a member of the RICS Professional Group Board.
Alan joined the firm in October 1988, he qualified as a Member of the RICS on 2nd Oct 1989 and opened our East Kilbride office the following year. Covering a range of activities, his area of expertise is in the residential market, from Home Reports to negotiating land sale transactions. He enjoys building strong client relationships. He is married with 3 daughters, he is a church elder and keen golfer at Lanark.
Scott is a Director, he trained initially with Peter H Lumsden, Chartered Surveyors in Motherwell before changing direction to work as a Valuer with Slater Hogg Estate Agents. Recruited in 1989 to set up Whyte & Barrie Commercial, Scott has been responsible for Agency matters and the disposal of client’s property by lease or sale for almost 30 years. Away from the office, Scott is a keen golfer and enjoys travelling with his wife, Anne, particularly to Italy.
Andy is a Fellow of the RICS, having qualified in 1977. He joined Whyte & Barrie in early 2016 and Heads our Commercial Valuation Department. Andy has an extensive knowledge and experience of valuing a wide variety of commercial, retail, office and industrial subjects throughout the Central Belt, Lanarkshire and Southern Scotland. In his spare time he enjoys Golf and Hillwalking.
Gordon is an Associate Director having joined Whyte & Barrie in 2003, following a period in the Construction industry. Based in the Hamilton office, he is experienced in the valuation of both Residential and Commercial Property across Lanarkshire and specialises in the provision of Home Reports. Gordon is responsible for the Quality Assurance covering the whole firm.
Calum studied at Strathclyde and Heriot-Watt Universities before commencing professional training with Graham + Sibbald in 2005, he qualified as a Chartered Surveyor in May 2008. Calum joined Whyte & Barrie in August 2017 where he undertakes Home Reports and other types of valuation surveys in Lanarkshire and Glasgow for a wide variety of clients.
Craig joined Whyte and Barrie in January 2016. He graduated from Glasgow Caledonian University in 2012 with an Honours degree in Property Management and Valuation and worked as a Domestic Energy Assessor, qualifying in February 2013. Craig is currently involved predominantly in the Residential side of the Valuation Department.
Gary joined Whyte & Barrie in 2006 and, having qualified as a Chartered Surveyor in 1997, is an RICS Registered Valuer with over 30 years experience in the residential property market throughout Lanarkshire and Glasgow.
Kingsley qualified as a Chartered Surveyor in 1992 and is a versatile and respected property professional with proven experience gained along a considered career path. Previously, a Partner in one of the UK’s top 50 firms of Chartered Surveyors, Kingsley joined Whyte & Barrie in June 2017 and has over 30 years experience in the residential property market throughout Central Scotland.
