Whyte & Barrie are one of the largest independent firms of Chartered Surveyors operating across central Scotland. The Firm of Whyte and Barrie was established in 1947 and has advanced greatly from its modest beginnings in the town of Lanark.
In 1974 the company expanded into Valuation Practice and is now a multi-disciplined business that has expertise in the full range of residential and commercial services required by our clients. We take pride in our well established reputation and our position on the panels of all major lenders.
Whether you are a first time buyer buying your first home or are a seasoned purchaser investing in large business we have the skills from over 65 years in the property industry to guide and advise you.
Our current staffing level and expertise has grown considerably from our humble beginnings but our expansion has not stopped there…
First Surveyors Scotland
We are one of the founding members of First Surveyors Scotland and now form part of the largest company of Chartered Surveyors in Scotland with over 30 branch offices and unequalled geographic coverage. This makes us cost effective and creates a network where our clients always feel comfortable in the knowledge that the professional advice they receive is from local experts with many years of experience.
Our professional services embrace all aspects of General Practice Surveying with specialist advice available on a wide range of property matters. We have one of the most active Commercial Property Agencies operating in Central Scotland with several plc and multi-national companies amongst our client base. Our long-standing business relationship with all of the major lending institutions, corporate clients and our record of repeat business is testament to the quality of service we provide.
Whyte & Barrie are a Quality Assured firm adhering to the requirements of ISO 9001: 2008, our first accreditation being awarded to the company in April 1998. Our Quality Assurance procedures make compliance by all staff a mandatory item and therefore each staff member is familiar with the relevant parts of the Quality Assurance System pertaining to their tasks. This ensures that the service given to any one of our clients will meet a defined and high standard. Our Quality Assurance Manager ensures that regular systematic checks and internal audits are made to ensure best practise. These are carried out in addition to our compulsory external audits.
Whyte & Barrie are always looking towards the future and with our on-going and substantial investment in computer technology coupled with our staff training programmes we are always striving for more efficient ways to deliver our services to our clients. We use a variety of common IT packages including the Quest system in order to sustain cohesion with our private and corporate client base. Our staff members are fully trained and our IT consultants are an integral part of our day-to-day business.
